Fuerteventura-Canarias Cycling Club

Its sponsors are the Ministry of Tourism, Government of the Canary Islands. The Tourist Board of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, and more employers emerge as a way of promoting tourism on the island of Fuerteventura and the Canary Islands in general. It is the first professional cycling team from the Canary Islands.

They began to compete in 2007 and initially focused on participation in tests conducted in Germany, England, Portugal, France and Spain to ensure Fuerteventura cyclingthe promotion of tourism in Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands and throughout the world.   Its general director is the architect Jorge Sastre, who along with Oscar Guerrero, recently left the Kaiku, as technical director.
As a subsidiary, Fuerteventura-Canarias team is an amateur team from San Sebastian Ugarte with which it shares several sponsors.   The first competition that took place was the Vuelta Ciclista a Mallorca 2007, finishing 14th out of 21 teams.   Vicente Ballester finished third in the classic Almeria.

In the Tour of Andalusia held between the 18th and 22nd February 2007, the team finished first in the general Rodrigo Garcia being its top-ranked runner in the tenth puesto.   A good performance was put in by Iker Flores Galarza Back in the Basque Country and the Goals Flyers jersey.   Rodrigo Garcia won the first two stages in the Fuerteventura-Canarias in the Tour of Asturias, 2007 and Maillot of regularity. This test also won the team classification.

In the recent Championship Spain 2007, the corridor Fuerteventura-Canarias, Manuel Lloret ascended the podium of the test trial in a magnificent third place.  Back in Madrid, another good performance was put in by Manuel Lloret, gaining victory in the second stage time trial and victory in the final General Individual.

In the Tour of Burgos Rodrigo Garcia this year they won the jersey of the Flyers goals
after more than 400 kilometers away in the Tour of Portugal, where he was shot a few meters from arrival in several stages.  The brave rider Valenciano Adrian Palomares won deservedly in Germany in the fifth and final stage of the Tour Regio Tour.  It followed the run of wins in Europe with the top teams in the Tour Poitou Charetes in France.

There was also an outstanding performance in the Tour of Britain. Adrian Paloames gained victory at the third stage, with second place in the Individual General Classification and triumphed in the team classification.   A brilliant final season was with the victory of Vicente Ballester in the Criterium International Corralejo.

In 2008 the leadership of the squad decided to reclassify the team as amateur, with a view to a future return to professionalism in the short term. For this task Vicente Belda was appointed Sporting Director.
